What is the date/time of my child's taster session?
We are currently closed due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, and will be in touch with details of taster sessions as soon as we are able to reopen.
Where will we find you?
Our address: Newcastle High School for Girls, Music and PE building, 44 Back Brandling Place South, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 4RU
There is council car parking available outside, please do not use the pub car parks as they have strict rules and regulations in place and you may incur a fine. The entrance is on the corner, just opposite the all-weather pitch, and access is via a locked door. A member of the coaching team will be there to open the door 10 minutes before the session starts for athletes to enter. If you do get into difficulty on the day, please send a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will send out a search party.
What time should we arrive?
We ask all athletes to arrive 10 minutes before the start of their session, as all athletes must be ready to begin warmup promptly at their session start time. We will use these ten minutes to get acquainted and answer any last minute questions you may have.
What should my child wear?
Athletes must wear:
Clean athletic trainers (i.e. not covered in mud)
Long hair tied up
We also strongly advise bringing a bottle of water!
What if my child is no longer able to attend?
If your child is unable to attend their session, or any future sessions they sign up for, due to illness, injury or other unexpected circumstances please email email@example.com, as soon as possible to let us know.
Can I watch the class?
We usually operate a no spectators policy, due to the space available, noise levels, and potential for distraction. However, we understand that some athletes may be happier settling in with a parent/guardian on hand, just in case. Therefore, if you need to, you are welcome to stay for your child’s first session. If you would like to stay for future sessions, this would need to be agreed in advance with our head coach.
Can I take photos/videos?
Unfortunately not. We ask parents of all athletes, when they register, to give their consent for us to take photos and videos of their child. This consent applies only to photos and videos taken by the coaching team, and this does not extend to parents of other athletes. Some of our athletes are under strict privacy and security arrangements, and if we allow other parents to take photos and videos of our training sessions, we not only have no control over their use or distribution, but we could unknowingly place the athlete at risk.
What happens after the session?
We hope that everyone who comes through the door wants to continue with us and come back next week! But we don't want to chase you as you leave, or hound you with emails. After the session, if your child has decided to return, please just send a quick reply to this email, and we will get back to you with further details.
